Is it true that “rare earth magnets” only react to traditional non magnetic metals such as aluminum?
No not at all, Rare arth Magnet is magnet made of Rare earth material classified under the lanthanide group. eg. Nd, Sm etc, and magnet made from this material are NdFeB- Neodymium Iron Boron, SmCo-Samarium Cobalt. These magnets have high energy. they react with aluminum on the basis of Eddy Current Principle, under magentized condition, But at the chemical level they don’t react with aluminium
